Starting October 1st, Goya Producciones will become the official distributor in Europe of the Replica of the Tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This replica, made from synthetic jute, is designed by Made by Catholics and manufactured in Mexico by FebTex, a corporate social responsibility company.

The agreement follows the box office success of Goya Producciones’ documentary film “Guadalupe: Mother of Humanity” in Mexico, Spain, Poland and the U.S.A

We were impressed by the quality of the sample tilma we received, the research behind it, and the work of the people involved in the project. The synthetic jute replica tilma by Made by Catholics is a replica of the current image as it appears today, with its imperfections, deterioration, etc. They did not want to alter the image out of respect for the Virgin Mary and aim to show it as it is seen now to avoid making mistakes. As Ricardo Flores-Kastanis (director of Made by Catholics) explains, “No one knows exactly what the image looked like 500 years ago.”

According to the creators, they have achieved 85% accuracy in color quality, with very high precision and definition.

It is made in Mexico by Catholic families in a Corporate Social Responsibility company (FebTex), with high-quality craftsmanship and finish, produced exclusively by them.

Each tilma comes with a certificate confirming that it is made by Catholics, produced in Mexico, from synthetic jute, with high fidelity in color and image to the original tilma.

The tilma is available in three sizes:

Original Size Tilma T1 is 169 x 104 cm
Family Size Tilma T2 is 89 x 51 cm
Miniature Size Tilma T3 is 22 x 13 cm
It does not require framing and includes a hanging system for the tilma, but does not include supports or cords.

Additionally, Goya Producciones will offer a free family-sized tilma to those who, during 2024, screen the film “Guadalupe: Mother of Humanity” with the necessary licenses and conditions for this promotion, only within Spanish territory.
