18 Mar “Saint Joseph: Guardian of the Family” Triumphs at the Brazilian Box Office

The Polish film Saint Joseph: Guardian of the Family, internationally distributed by Goya Producciones, had a strong theatrical debut in Brazil on March 12, 2026. On its opening day, the film reached the Top 9 at the Brazilian box office and climbed to the Top 4 over its first weekend. It is currently showing in more than 100 theaters across the country.
Audience reception has been very positive, with sold-out screenings in several locations and strong support from groups, parishes, and Catholic communities. This success confirms the strong interest of Brazilian audiences in the figure of Saint Joseph, following the path of Heart of a Father, which reached the Top 3 at the box office two years ago.
The film combines fictional reenactments with real-life testimonies from marriages that have been restored and favors attributed to the intercession of Saint Joseph, presented as a protector of families.
Following its run in Brazil, the film continues its international rollout: it has already been released in 13 countries and will soon arrive in theaters in Colombia (April 16), the United States (April 23), and Ecuador (May 21).
