On May 2 and 3, 2009, five thousand children took part in the 3rd National Missionary Childhood Encounter, organized by the Pontifical Mission Societies of Spain.
More than 100 buses from all over Spain joined the many participants from Madrid. Children wearing scarves and caps representing the five continents (yellow–Asia, blue–Oceania, white–Europe, red–America, green–Africa) filled the venue with color and joy, celebrating their identity as young missionaries “today, tomorrow, and always,” as the event’s motto declared.
