Mirrors of Spain. The foundations of Teresa de Jesus
Unpublished images have uncovered the atmosphere that surrounds the sixteenth-century Carmelites who met their founder, and where their daughters today still live, faithful to their charism. Accompanying the hand of Teresa at the closure of their monasteries, we feel the personality of this woman in love with Jesus Christ.
After four and a half centuries, in the 17 monasteries that are presented here, and in another 800 scattered all over the world, the Carmelites continue to offer their lives in silence for their brothers and sisters. From its foundations Teresa wrote to her beloved Father Gracián, in December of 1576, that the Pope should be informed of how these houses are made in “mirrors of Spain”.
